{"id":1233,"date":"2020-07-24T18:48:03","date_gmt":"2020-07-24T18:48:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/fwrrclub.org\/?p=1233"},"modified":"2020-07-24T18:48:04","modified_gmt":"2020-07-24T18:48:04","slug":"fwrr-covid-19-policy-august-8-match","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/fwrrclub.org\/index.php\/2020\/07\/24\/fwrr-covid-19-policy-august-8-match\/","title":{"rendered":"FWRR COVID-19 POLICY &#8211;  August 8 Match"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>FWRR COVID-19 POLICY<br>\n24 July 2020<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The recent announcement from Indiana\nGovernor Holcomb requiring the wearing of face masks has resulted in several questions\nconcerning masks and our next match on August 8th.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The applicable portion of the\nGovernor\u2019s announcement is:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cFace masks\nwill be required in indoor public spaces, including commercial entities and\ntransportation services, <strong><em>as well as outdoor public spaces where\nsocial distancing is not possible<\/em>.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The italics are mine.&nbsp; Our rifle match is in an outdoor space where\nwe are able to maintain a six-foot social distance at just about all\ntimes.&nbsp; We have been observant of social\ndistancing issues during all of our matches this year.&nbsp; There some exceptions, such as during\ncheck-in when we need to be closer but as we have found at Thursday practices\nand previous matches, keeping six feet apart is not a difficult task.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I do not see this announcement as a\nrequirement to wear a mask at all times.&nbsp;\nBut there are times when we need to be masked.&nbsp; When we are setting up and putting away\ntargets, we need masks.&nbsp; We get closer\nthan 6-feet working on the catwalk under the pit roof.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During check-in, Stat Office\nworkers and shooters need to be masked while interacting.&nbsp; Our shooting positions are more than 6-feet\napart. With our eight target setup we are able to spread out a bit more on the\nline to gain a little more space.&nbsp; A scorer\nis more than 6-feet from the shooter\u2019s head; (I really don\u2019t think a shooter\u2019s\nfeet are an infectious area.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Other parts of the Governor\u2019s\nannouncement are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Masks are not required to be worn:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>While participating in strenuous physical activity<\/li><li>If you have a medical condition preventing you from wearing a mask<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>High\nPower shooting is a strenuous activity.&nbsp;\nFogging of safety eyewear from a mask makes wearing a mask while\nshooting impractical.&nbsp; If you have a\nmedical condition that makes you unable to wear a mask \u2013 make sure that you are\nextra vigilant in keeping an extended social distance from other shooters.&nbsp; A personal attitude that<em>; \u201cThe Governor can\u2019t tell me to wear a mask\u201d<\/em> is mental condition,\nnot a qualifying medical condition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I\nam not going to make wearing a mask at all times a requirement to participate\nin the August 8th match, <strong>but I am going\nto ask that participants do wear a mask at times and under conditions when it\nis appropriate<\/strong>.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If\nyou want to wear a mask most of the time, fine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>And, our usual precautions:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>If, within the previous two\nweeks, you know you have been exposed to anyone with COVID-19 or if you have\ntested positive for COVID-19 &#8211; STAY HOME!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>If you have a fever, feel achy\nor just don\u2019t feel well \u2013STAY HOME!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>If you have a cough, sore\nthroat, if things just don\u2019t taste right or if you are a little short of breath\n\u2013STAY HOME!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"text-align:center\"><strong><em>And, of course, any and all of this could be changed by the next\nannouncement from the Governor<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Larry\nBeardsley<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>FWRR\nHigh Power Range Officer<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>FWRR COVID-19 POLICY 24 July 2020 The recent announcement from Indiana Governor Holcomb requiring the wearing of face masks has resulted in several questions concerning masks and our next match on August 8th.
