{"id":1264,"date":"2020-09-07T21:23:28","date_gmt":"2020-09-07T21:23:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/fwrrclub.org\/?p=1264"},"modified":"2020-09-07T21:23:29","modified_gmt":"2020-09-07T21:23:29","slug":"fwrr-hoosier-home-range-hundred-saturday-september-5-2020","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/fwrrclub.org\/index.php\/2020\/09\/07\/fwrr-hoosier-home-range-hundred-saturday-september-5-2020\/","title":{"rendered":"FWRR Hoosier Home Range Hundred;  Saturday,  September 5, 2020"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Talk about living the dream!&nbsp;\nWe had scheduled the FWRR Hoosier Home Range Hundred Match for Saturday\nmorning with an 8 o\u2019clock first shot.&nbsp; I\ngot to the range about 6:55 and I noticed that the gate was open.&nbsp; I hung the FWRR Rifle Match Today sign on the\ngate and headed a bit further down the road.&nbsp;\nAs I topped the little rise, I saw five trucks parked at the pits.&nbsp; Most of the target frames were already in the\nholders by the time I got there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I wandered over to the edge of the pits and I told the guys;\n\u201cHey \u2013this isn\u2019t Camp Perry, we don\u2019t start at 7 o\u2019clock.\u201d&nbsp; The response from at least three people was;\n\u201cWell, we do \u2013 you\u2019re late!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I unloaded the electronics that I had taken home for an update and we finished setting up.\u00a0 Sunrise was at 7:12 this morning; \u00a0and by 7:19 \u2013 we were ready to go.\u00a0 We went back up to the \u201cnew\u201d 100-yard firing line and sat around a bit to let the sun get a bit higher.\u00a0 Everyone on the first relay was there (all eight targets were in use \u2013 no spare set aside for \u201coops\u201d), so we went to the line and at 7:55 the first shot went downrange.\u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" src=\"https:\/\/fwrrclub.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/Hoosier-Hundred-2-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1262\" srcset=\"https:\/\/fwrrclub.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/Hoosier-Hundred-2-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/fwrrclub.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/Hoosier-Hundred-2-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/fwrrclub.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/Hoosier-Hundred-2-768x432.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><figcaption><strong>Getting Things Set Up; &#8220;Is the Server up yet?&#8221;<br>The line is full &#8211; 8 shooters &#8211; and the Range Officer is already sitting down!<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>No sooner had the offhand stage gotten under way but the clouds parted and the targets were bathed in brilliant sunlight.\u00a0 One shooter commented; \u201cThe clouds parted, the sun came out and all that was missing was music\u2026 .\u201d\u00a0 Did I mention that it was about 60-degrees and absolutely no wind?\u00a0 It was like shooting offhand in an air-conditioned field house with stage lighting!\u00a0 Not even the grouchiest high power shooter could have asked for netter conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" src=\"https:\/\/fwrrclub.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/Hoosier-Hundred-1-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1261\" srcset=\"https:\/\/fwrrclub.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/Hoosier-Hundred-1-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/fwrrclub.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/Hoosier-Hundred-1-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/fwrrclub.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/Hoosier-Hundred-1-768x432.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><figcaption><strong>Our new 100-yard firing line<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Things went along very smoothly and we used block time to\nmove along promptly.&nbsp; The first 80-round\nmatch was finished by 9:30.&nbsp; I had\nscheduled the second relay for 10:00, but by the time the first relay finished,\nall of the second relay shooters had arrived, so we went right back to the\nline.&nbsp; Several shooters had signed up to\nshoot two relays, and after the first relay a couple more wanted in for two, so\nwe ended up with one shooter sitting out the second relay \u2013 we ran out of slots\nfor him to shoot in.
