Meeting Place: VFW Post 857, located at 2202 West Main Street in\nFort Wayne. Meeting Time: 7:00 p.m. Agenda: Standard meeting format.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cleanup\nDay projects will be discussed as a New Business topic. Please try to attend as\na quorum is required to conduct club business. Food and drink will be available\nat very reasonable prices before and after the meeting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Membership Information Update<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As\nof March 15th, the number of members in good standing is 363. Three members\nhave resigned their memberships for various reasons, two members have passed\naway, and twelve members have failed to respond to membership renewal\nreminders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dues\nreceived with postmark dates after March 1st, but on or before March 31st, are\nsubject to a $25.00 late fee. Dues received with postmark dates after March\n31st will be returned with a notice indicating that:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1)\nThe party&#8217;s membership has been terminated<br>\n2) Future membership requires submission of a membership applications and\npayment of new member fees (c.f., Bylaws Article IX, Section 2).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dues\npaid with an NSF check are subject to a $25.00 returned check fee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If\npersonal hardship prevents timely payment of dues, contact a club officer who\nmay arrange either for dues to be waived or for payment to be deferred.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Individuals\nwho were accepted as members on or after October 1, 2021 are not required to\npay membership dues tor the 2022 calendar year; nevertheless, they do need to\nreturn the renewal form with proof of current NRA membership.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Donations<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sincere\nthanks to the many members who have made donations this year. Donations\nexceeded the astonishing sum of $6,000.00.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It\ndeserves special mention that one, traditionally very-generous, long-time\nmember donated $500.00.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Membership\ngenerosity provides funds for facility improvements and aids the club in\nmanaging recurring expenses (e.g. insurance, property tax, building and\nfacilities maintenance, and property upkeep).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Newsletter Delivery<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Approximately\n80% of the membership receives the newsletter via e-mail. Those members who\nhave e-mail accounts and who currently opt for postal delivery are asked to\nconsider receiving the newsletter via e-mail. To sign up for the E-News just\nsend an E-Mail to&nbsp;<a href=\"mailto:billmac099@gmail.com\"><strong>billmac099@gmail.com<\/strong><\/a>&nbsp;with&nbsp;<strong>FWRRC\nE-News<\/strong>&nbsp;in the subject line and your&nbsp;<strong>Name<\/strong>&nbsp;somewhere\nwithin the body of the E-mail. You will also receive Flash E-mails of any club\nnews<em>.<br>\nDoing so will save printing expenses (newsletter and mailing labels), postage,\nenvelope cost, the time and fuel spent traveling to\/from the printer, and the\nmanual labor associated with stuffing, labeling, stamping, and mailing\nenvelopes.<br>\n(<\/em>&nbsp;Note: at the bottom of any broadcast FWRRC E-Mail will be an Opt-out\nbutton.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Maintenance Activities<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thanks\ngo to Dave Fritz for painting the new target number boards that will replace\nthe weathered boards on the 300 yard range. This is the third set of boards\nthat Dave prepared in the last 25 or more years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Reminders<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Clay\ntargets are only to be shot from the hut at the south end of the 25\/50\/100-yard\nportion of the Main Range. Take care to ensure that clay targets, wads, and\nshot land on club property.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Lock Combination Change<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The\ncombination that opens the locks at the gate, the Weidman Building, and the\nbuilding on the 25\/50\/100-yard portion of the Main Range will be changed on\nCleanup Day, 23 April 2022. The combination that appears on your 2021\nMembership Card will be valid until that date. It is suggested that members\neither keep their 2021 cards until Cleanup Day or record the 2021 combination\non their 2022 membership cards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Sad News<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It\nhas come to the club\u2019s attention that two members have passed away: Marc Lansky\nand Garry Leavitt. Marc joined the club in January of 1960. As best as can be\ndetermined, Marc holds the record for membership longevity, 62 years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Cleanup Day Projects<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cleanup\nDay will be April 23, 2022. Work typically commences at 8:00 a.m. Lunch will be\nserved to all who participate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tentatively\nscheduled projects include the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<table class=\"wp-block-table\"><tbody><tr><td>\n  1.\n  <\/td><td>\n  Installing a drain at the 100-yard firing\n  line on the 300-yard portion of the Main Range. A volunteer or volunteers are\n  being sought to perform some preliminary work related to this tasks. This\n  work includes picking up a tractor, trencher, and pipe. If you are interested\n  in helping with these aspects of the project, come to the April 4th club\n  meeting and volunteer or contact Marty Didion at&nbsp;<a href=\"mailto:martindidion4@gmail.com\">martindidion4@gmail.com<\/a>&nbsp;or Mike Miller\n  at&nbsp;<a href=\"mailto:fwrrsect300@gmail.com\">fwrrsect300@gmail.com<\/a>.\n  <\/td><\/tr><tr><td>\n  &nbsp;\n  <\/td><td>\n  &nbsp;\n  <\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table>\n\n\n\n<table class=\"wp-block-table\"><tbody><tr><td>\n  2.\n  <\/td><td>\n  Graveling and grading the Pistol Pit and\n  roads.\n  <\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table>\n\n\n\n<table class=\"wp-block-table\"><tbody><tr><td>\n  3.\n  <\/td><td>\n  Installing a gutter, pipe, and a base for a\n  cistern system to provide water for chemical mixing and grass watering.\n  <\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table>\n\n\n\n<table class=\"wp-block-table\"><tbody><tr><td>\n  4.\n  <\/td><td>\n  Repairing the 300-yard number board frames.\n  <\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table>\n\n\n\n<table class=\"wp-block-table\"><tbody><tr><td>\n  5.\n  <\/td><td>\n  Removing the Porta-jon from the 300-yard\n  pit.\n  <\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table>\n\n\n\n<p>If\nyou have an idea for a project that you would like to see accomplished or\nstarted on Cleanup Day, please present your suggestion at the April 4th club\nmeeting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Mowing Schedule<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The\n2022 Mowing Schedule is currently being prepared. Dates are tentative,\ndepending on weather and ground conditions. Mowing times vary according to\nvolunteer availability. Efforts will be made to provide mowing dates and times\non the website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The\nMain Range is closed during mowing and other range maintenance activities.
