FWRR Club Meeting<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The next meeting of the Fort Wayne Rifle and\nRevolver Club will be held on Monday, December 5<\/strong>, 2022. \nMeeting Place: VFW Post 857, located at 2202 West Main Street in Fort\nWayne.  Meeting Time: 7:00 p.m.  <\/strong>Food and drink will\nbe available at very reasonable prices before and after the meeting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2023 Membership Renewal<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

2023 Membership Renewal Forms will be mailed in\nearly December. Please read and follow the instructions at the top of\nthe form. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Completed Membership\nRenewal Forms, proof of current NRA membership, and payments are due on January\n1st<\/sup> each year.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dues must be received on or before March 1st<\/sup>\u00a0to avoid late fees or termination of membership. Dues received with postmark dates after March 1st<\/sup>, but on or before March 31st<\/sup>, are subject to a $25.00 late fee. Dues received with postmark dates after March 31st<\/sup>\u00a0will be returned with a notice indicating that;<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1) the party’s membership has been terminated, and;<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2) future membership requires submission of a membership application and payment of new member fees (c.f., Bylaws Article IX, Section 2).\u00a0 Dues paid with an NSF check are subject to a $25.00 returned check fee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If personal hardship\nprevents timely payment of dues, contact a club officer who may arrange either\nfor dues to be waived or for payment to be deferred.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Individuals who were\naccepted as members after October 1, 2022 are not required to pay membership\ndues for the 2023 calendar year; nevertheless, they do need to return the\nrenewal form with proof of current NRA membership.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Updating the roster is a time consuming\nactivity.  Deciphering illegible printing and contacting\nmembers to obtain proof of NRA membership can be frustrating and time consuming\nactivities. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lock Combination Change<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The lock combination change is made on Cleanup\nDay (mid to late April).  Retain your 2022 Membership Card until the\nchange is made.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Newsletter Delivery<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Approximately 80% of the membership receives the\nnewsletter via email.  Those members who have email accounts and who\ncurrently opt for postal delivery are asked to consider receiving the\nnewsletter via email next year.  Doing so will save printing and postage\ncosts and reduce significant manual labor.  Changes in delivery method\nwill go into effect in April, 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To add or remove your Email address just send an Email to\u00a0<\/strong>billmac099@yahoo.com<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0with the subject FWRRC-Add\u00a0or FWRRC-Delete<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Maintenance Activities<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The final mowing of the\nyear was accomplished on November 2nd<\/sup>.   The mowers, sprayer, and cistern were\nwinterized.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Target frame repairs\nwere made on the 25\/50\/100 Yard Range.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Permanent Target Backers\nwere installed in Pistol Bays 4 and 5. One 4\u2019x4\u2019 corrugated-plastic sheet was\ninstalled on each target frame.  (Please remove targets faces and staples\nafter use.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eight 2\u2019x2\u2019\ncorrugated-plastic target backers were made available for use.  The new\nbackers are located inside the building on the 25\/50\/100 yard portion of the\nrange. (After use, please remove targets faces and staples and return the\nbackers to the building.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The heater in the\nbuilding on the 25\/50\/100 yard portion of the range was repaired.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The gutters on the\n25\/50\/100 yard building were cleaned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Number boards on the 300\nyard range were removed and stored for the winter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

High-power (HP)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Winter 40-round offhand\nmatches are being held the second Saturday of the month from November through\nMarch.    Check-in Time: 8:00 a.m.  Firing begins at 9:00\na.m.   More information concerning the High Power Program is posted\non the Club\u2019s website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Important\nReminders<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some of these reminders are repeated from\nearlier 2022 Newsletters.  They are being repeated because violations are\nstill occurring.  Several members have reported violations but failed to\nadvise offenders. If you see someone in violation, please courteously explain\nthe rule infraction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

DO NOT HANDLE FIREARMS WHEN PERSONNEL ARE DOWN RANGE! <\/strong>Proper range etiquette involves opening actions, removing all ammunition from firearms, and stepping away from the firing line.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

DO NOT POST TARGETS ON TARGET FRAMES OR OTHERWISE INTENTIONALLY SHOOT TARGET FRAMES.<\/strong> All shots should pass through target backers and must land on impact bunkers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

THE RANGE STATUS FLAG MUST BE LOWERED AND RAISED EVEN IF YOU ARE THE ONLY PERSON ON THE RANGE.<\/strong>\u00a0 Ensure that targets are removed and the status flag is lowered before departing the range.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

THE RANGE MAY NOT BE USED FOR COMMERCIAL USE.<\/strong>\u00a0 We had one report of a member administering what appeared to be a pistol training course to an estimated ten or more individuals.\u00a0 Members may not undertake for-profit activities at FWRRC.\u00a0 Be advised that to do so has historically resulted in membership termination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

MEMBERS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE BEHAVIOR AND ACTIONS OF THEIR GUESTS.<\/strong>\u00a0 Members may take a maximum of two guests to the range per visit, not counting family members.\u00a0 Do not take more guests and\/or family members than you are able to directly supervise.\u00a0 If your guests or family members are new to the shooting sports, it is strongly recommended that the member refrain from shooting so that all of his\/her attention can be devoted to supervision.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Please make certain to close the outhouse doors and to lower the toilet seat covers.<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n
