{"id":2215,"date":"2023-05-30T14:16:07","date_gmt":"2023-05-30T14:16:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/fwrrclub.org\/?p=2215"},"modified":"2023-05-30T14:16:08","modified_gmt":"2023-05-30T14:16:08","slug":"hoosier-outlaws-return-to-fwrr","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/fwrrclub.org\/index.php\/2023\/05\/30\/hoosier-outlaws-return-to-fwrr\/","title":{"rendered":"Hoosier Outlaws Return to FWRR"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/fwrrclub.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/Hoosier-Outlaws-1.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2204\" width=\"419\" height=\"399\" srcset=\"https:\/\/fwrrclub.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/Hoosier-Outlaws-1.png 712w, https:\/\/fwrrclub.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/Hoosier-Outlaws-1-300x286.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 419px) 100vw, 419px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Saturday, May 27<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0was a beautiful day for a match!\u00a0 We had seven shooters come out, that was about the turnout I expected considering it was  the Memorial Day weekend and that there were other, bigger matches in the area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The seven shooters that did show up did have a great time and shot\nsix fast stages.&nbsp; There were no ladies\nthis time (except for support staff).&nbsp; They must have been home preparing\nthe dinner for all of the men that were out shooting (just a joke).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The one great thing that happened Saturday was the first ever\nclean match for Anvil Adam when shooting in Pale Rider Gunfighter.&nbsp; For people that do not know what that is, you\nhave to shoot the match Gunfighter style (one pistol in each hand at the same\ntime).&nbsp; The loads have to be black powder, and full power black\npowder.&nbsp;&nbsp; The shotgun has to be at least 12 gauge (some use a 10\ngauge) with 50 grains of powder (usually FFG).&nbsp; The rifle and pistol loads\nhave to be at least 40 caliber or larger and have to be loaded with at least 30\ngrains of the Holy Black.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These heavy loads handicap you in a couple of different\nareas.&nbsp; First off, you have the recoil, which is not light by any\nmeans.&nbsp;&nbsp; Even bigger than that, you have to see through the smoke to\nsee your targets.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That much black powder smoke would make it difficult for even Superman and his X-ray vision to see the targets, so a big Congratulations to Anvil Adam.\u00a0\u00a0 <em>(A note from an observer \u2013 from the high power range it looked like someone was starting a trash fire or cooking burgers over in the pistol pits with all the powder smoke!)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>FWRR\u2019s own Wild Walt finished as the top Outlaw of the day,\nfinishing first in four of the six stages.&nbsp;\nHis total time for the day, 142.04 seconds, was 23-some odd seconds\nfaster that the next shooter and that makes him the Fastest Gun in the East \u2013\nat least for this match.&nbsp; But \u2013 there is\nalways someone gunning for you at the nest session.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Saturday, May 27th\u00a0was a beautiful day for a match!\u00a0 We had seven shooters come out, that was about the turnout I expected considering it was the Memorial Day weekend and that there were other, bigger matches in the area.
