Saturday August 12 dawned as a cloudy morning \u2013 no rain\nthreatening but as humid and muggy a morning as we have seen in a while. It wasn\u2019t actually foggy, but by the time we\nfinished setup just about everyone commented on how damp things were. But, that didn\u2019t seem to affect the shooting\nability of the fourteen shooters who came to the match.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We were glad to see Ron Dague return to shooting after a\nlong absence to get some medical problems cleared up. Welcome back, Ron!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mike King continued his dominance, setting the bar for the\nrest of the field with an impressive 790-26X score. Mike commented to the effect; \u201cAfter shooting so\nmany matches at 600-yards, 300-yards seems to be almost easy\u201d. He does make it look easy; back at 300 yards\nMike did not drop a point, posting 200-8X and 200-9X scores in rapid and slow\nprone stages. Good shooting Mike!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Jeff Bierke quietly worked his way into second place with a\n768-14X, narrowly edging Mark Walters\u2019 766-23X. Jess Jessup closed out the top\nfour places with a 763-15X. The top four\nshooters all posted Master or High Master scores \u2013 great shooting guys.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The High Junior was Marshall Rohrbach with 741-11X, closing\nout the top five shooters for the day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Our next event is the Indiana State 300-yard Championship Match\nat Wildcat Valley on Saturday, August 19th. \nThis match is a match very similar to our FWRR matches; a CMP 80-round\nmatch fired on Silver Mountain Targets. \nIt\u2019s a nice day trip down to Wildcat Valley and I encourage everyone to\nmake the trip.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On Thursday afternoon, August 24th we will shoot an NRA Approved\nNational Match Course 100-yard match at FWRR in place of our regular high power\npractice. This is a quick, fun match; that\nlittle SR target reduced to 600-yards is harder to hit than it looks like it\nshould be.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
