{"id":2481,"date":"2024-04-21T23:20:08","date_gmt":"2024-04-21T23:20:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/fwrrclub.org\/?p=2481"},"modified":"2024-04-22T13:27:28","modified_gmt":"2024-04-22T13:27:28","slug":"50-80-match-april-20-2024","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/fwrrclub.org\/index.php\/2024\/04\/21\/50-80-match-april-20-2024\/","title":{"rendered":"50\/80 Match; April 20, 2024"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/fwrrclub.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/IMG_0002-1024x765.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2482\" width=\"459\" height=\"343\" srcset=\"https:\/\/fwrrclub.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/IMG_0002-1024x765.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/fwrrclub.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/IMG_0002-300x224.jpg 300w, https:\/\/fwrrclub.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/IMG_0002-768x574.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 459px) 100vw, 459px\" \/><figcaption><strong><em>FWRR Juniors &#8211; Not Their Best Side<\/em><\/strong>s<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The 2024 High Power season\nopened on Saturday with a 50\/80 match.&nbsp;\nThis was a \u201cfun\u201d match to let us work out the kinks, find the things\nthat we had forgotten and the things we needed to work on before we shoot a\nmatch for CMP or NRA classifications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And, there were several\nthings we forgot.&nbsp; As we started\nshooting, some people reported cross fires on their targets, some folks had missing\nshots on targets and even some shooters had no issues at all.&nbsp; What in the world was going on? <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We called \u201c<strong><em>CEASE\nFIRE<\/em><\/strong>\u201d and went down range to straighten things out.&nbsp; It turned out we had moved the target frames\none lane to the right &#8211; target 3 was in front of number board 4, five was in\nfront of 6 &#8211; and so on all the way down the line.&nbsp; Shooters on either end of the line just shot\nthe target at the end of the target lines, some shooters in mid line counted\ntargets and some used the number boards. But, we got it figured out and things\nwent on after a bit of confusion,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It was a brisk day,\ntemperatures in the high 40\u2019s, intermittently cloudy, partly cloudy and at\ntimes even sunny.&nbsp; The wind was fairly\nsteady out of the west at about 10 MPH (predominantly from about 12\no\u2019clock).&nbsp; It wasn\u2019t hand numbing cold,\nbut there were several drippy noses and rosy cheeks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We had eleven shooters.&nbsp; We would like to welcome newcomers Charles\nNovak, Tim Jackson and Jeff McCullough to the high power group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For the shooters firing the 80-round match, Mike King took top honors with a 785-25X.\u00a0 Marshall Rohrbach (Junior) took second with 764-16X, Jim Jackson was third with 756-12X and Kileen Shaffer (another Junior) closed out the top four shooters with a 750-13X.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For the 50-round match,\nJess Jessup took top honors with a 470-11X followed by Tim Jackson\u2019s 434-4X .<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Congratulations to the\nshooters who came out on top of the standings and Thanks to everyone who came\nout for the day.&nbsp; It was a good day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Next Saturday, April 27 is\nour Range Clean-up Day. The fun will start about 8:00 depending on task but\nwork will continue until early afternoon, so if you can\u2019t be there early &#8211; come\non out anyway.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Our next High Power Match will be on Saturday, May\n18.&nbsp; Registration and set-up will start\nabout 7:00.&nbsp; Registration will close at\n7:45 and the first shot will be at 8:00 sharp.&nbsp;\nIf we have a two or three relay match, we should be done by noon or so,\nso plan to come out and shoot with us!<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The 2024 High Power season opened on Saturday with a 50\/80 match.&nbsp; This was a \u201cfun\u201d match to let us work out the kinks, find the things that we had forgotten and the things we needed to work on before we shoot a match for CMP or NRA classifications.
