{"id":2511,"date":"2024-05-21T12:47:33","date_gmt":"2024-05-21T12:47:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/fwrrclub.org\/?p=2511"},"modified":"2024-05-23T11:55:18","modified_gmt":"2024-05-23T11:55:18","slug":"fwrr-newsletter-june-2024","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/fwrrclub.org\/index.php\/2024\/05\/21\/fwrr-newsletter-june-2024\/","title":{"rendered":"FWRR Newsletter; June 2024"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><a><strong>June 2024 FWRRC Newsletter<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>FWRR Club Meeting<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The next\nmeeting of the Fort Wayne Rifle and Revolver Club will be held on Monday, June\n3, 2024.&nbsp; Meeting Place: VFW Post 857, located at 2202 West Main Street in\nFort Wayne.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meeting\nTime: 7:00 p.m.&nbsp;&nbsp;Meeting Agenda:&nbsp; Standard meeting\nformat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Please make\nan effort to attend meetings, as a quorum is required to conduct club\nbusiness.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Cleanup Day<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cleanup Day\nwas held on April 27<sup>th<\/sup>.&nbsp; Seventeen members (a bit less than 5%\nof the membership) participated.&nbsp; Target frames at 25, 50, 100 and 200\nyards were repaired and 12 new shooting seats of two different heights were\nfabricated.&nbsp; Work completed early; therefore, lunch was not served.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On the\nThursday following Cleanup Day, Lynn Rosswurm graded the roads and Pistol Pit\narea.&nbsp; Lynn has volunteered his tractor and services for many years.&nbsp;\nBe sure to thank him when you see him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Lock Combination Change<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The lock\ncombination change has been made.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Driving Off Road<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>TO AVOID\nDAMAGE TO SWALES, IT IS NO LONGER PERMISSIBLE FOR&nbsp;ANY&nbsp;MEMBER&nbsp;TO\nDRIVE OFF ROAD TO THE 100 YARD TARGET FRAME.<\/strong>&nbsp; Soil conditions permitting, it is\npermissible to drive on the grass downrange (west) of the 100 yard firing mound\non the 300 yard range to access the 200 yard target frames. (Do not drive\nacross the 100 yard firing mound.) It is permissible to park and drive on the\ngrass in other areas, soil conditions permitting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Discipline Reports<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>ACPDL (Allen\nCounty Practical Defense League)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>ACPDL\nmatches will be held on 6\/1, 6\/29 and 8\/3. Only ACPDL members are permitted to\nshoot.&nbsp; The pre-match meeting begins at 9:00 a.m. and shooting commences\nat 9:30 a.m.&nbsp; Matches are typically finished by 12:00 noon.&nbsp;\nObservers and those persons interested in becoming ACPDL members are welcome.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>USPSA\n(United States Practical Shooting Association)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The\nfollowing USPSA matches and practice sessions will be held in the May \u2013July\ntimeframe. Matches: 6\/16 and 7\/21. Match start time is 9:00 a.m.&nbsp; Practice\nSessions: 5\/26, 6\/23 and 7\/28. Practice session start time is 5:00 p.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>High-power\n(HP)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"454\" src=\"https:\/\/fwrrclub.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/Shooters3-1-1024x454.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2515\" srcset=\"https:\/\/fwrrclub.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/Shooters3-1-1024x454.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/fwrrclub.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/Shooters3-1-300x133.jpg 300w, https:\/\/fwrrclub.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/Shooters3-1-768x340.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><figcaption><strong><em>Saturday, May 18, 2024<\/em><\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The\nfollowing matches and practice sessions will be held in the May \u2013July time\nframe.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Prone Match:\n6\/1, 8:00 start time<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>50\/80\nMatches<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>5\/18 and 7\/20, 8:00 start time.&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Practice\nSessions<\/strong>:&nbsp;<strong>Thursdays, 4:30 p.m<\/strong>. with the exception of\nJuly 4<sup>th<\/sup>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>(Range\ncloses to informal practice at 3:00 p.m.)&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>6\/7:&nbsp;<strong>NMC<\/strong>, 4:30 p.m.&nbsp;<\/li><li>6\/8:&nbsp;<strong>RMC<\/strong>, 8:00 a.m.<\/li><li>6\/9:&nbsp;<strong>NMCs<\/strong>&nbsp;at 8:00 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>A \u201cCount the Bullets in the Jar\u201d fundraiser was kicked off at the March offhand match.&nbsp; This event is aimed at funding the purchase of three spotting scope stands and mounting heads for use by our Juniors. The fundraiser is an opportunity for participants to count the number of bullets in a jar.&nbsp; The count closest to the actual number of bullets will receive a Winchester Model 94 in caliber .30-30.&nbsp; The donation amount for each entry is $15.00. The ammunition requirements for the regular match are 60\nrounds for pistols, 60 rounds rifles, and 30 rounds for shotguns.&nbsp; Only\nlead bullets and shot are permitted.&nbsp; Shot may be no larger than #4 (shot\nsizes 4 \u2013 9).&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>PCSL\n(Practical Competition Shooting League)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>PCSL matches\nwill be held on 5\/26, 6\/23 and 7\/28..&nbsp; Match time is 10:00 a.m.\nRegistration starts at 9:30 a.m.&nbsp; New shooter orientation begins at 9:50\na.m.&nbsp; Rifles in caliber .223 and pistols in calibers 9 mm, .40 and .45 are\nused in this competition.
