{"id":2527,"date":"2024-05-31T20:09:58","date_gmt":"2024-05-31T20:09:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/fwrrclub.org\/?p=2527"},"modified":"2024-05-31T20:09:59","modified_gmt":"2024-05-31T20:09:59","slug":"range-safety-system-update","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/fwrrclub.org\/index.php\/2024\/05\/31\/range-safety-system-update\/","title":{"rendered":"Range Safety System Update"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The range safety system is getting close to being finished.\u00a0 We had a spell of \u201cgood enough\u201d weather on Tuesday, so we pulled in all of the wiring to the north stations and over the week we have two more switch stations active.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/fwrrclub.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/Greg-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2528\" width=\"256\" height=\"341\"\/><figcaption><strong><em>This is how a real electrician keeps his wires from getting all tangled up.  Thanks Greg!<\/em><\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>We ended up needing two pieces of plastic fittings and some\nodd hardware to finish the job, so it\u2019s not totally done yet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Five of the six control stations are active; all of the switches\non the 100-yard line and the end switches by the concrete benches are live and\ncan be used to control the strobe\/horn units on the 100-yard positions.&nbsp; We have the pieces and parts we need to finish\nup \u2013 we just need to get everyone healthy enough to finish it off.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A reminder:\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1.  When shooters want to go downrange, place the switch at a control station in the up (HORN\/STROBE) position to call a CEASE FIRE.\u00a0 Announce:\u00a0 \u201cCEASE FIRE, THE RANGE IS COLD\u201d.\u00a0 Everyone put down their guns \u2013 actions open and do not handle guns while people are downrange.\u00a0 Once everyone has acknowledged that a CEASE FIRE is in place, put the switch in the down (STROBE) position.\u00a0 The flashing strobes mean that someone is downrange.\u00a0 If multiple shooters go downrange, everyone should place a switch in the STROBE position.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2.  When all shooters return to the firing line, one shooter needs to place the switch in the up (HORN\/STROBE) position to get everyone\u2019s attention.\u00a0 Once everyone is back, and the line wants to go HOT; return all switches to the middle (OFF) position. Announce; \u201cTHE LINE IS HOT\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00a0<strong><em>ALL switches must be OFF to turn off the strobe lights \u2013 any switch, anywhere, in the STROBE position will keep the light flashing<\/em><\/strong>. <strong><em>(Any switch, anywhere, in HORN\/STROBE will keep that annoying horn sounding as well)<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"text-align:center\"><strong>It will be a bit before we get the last wiring done, but it is getting close  to being finished.\u00a0 Thank you for your patience.<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The range safety system is getting close to being finished.\u00a0 We had a spell of \u201cgood enough\u201d weather on Tuesday, so we pulled in all of the wiring to the north stations and over the week we have two more switch stations active.
