{"id":2803,"date":"2025-04-10T12:23:53","date_gmt":"2025-04-10T12:23:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/fwrrclub.org\/?p=2803"},"modified":"2025-04-10T12:23:53","modified_gmt":"2025-04-10T12:23:53","slug":"april-2025-fwrrc-newsletter","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/fwrrclub.org\/index.php\/2025\/04\/10\/april-2025-fwrrc-newsletter\/","title":{"rendered":"April 2025 FWRRC Newsletter"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>FWRR\nClub Meeting<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The\nnext meeting of the Fort Wayne Rifle and Revolver Club will be held on Monday,\nApril 7, 2025.&nbsp; Meeting Place: VFW Post 857, located at 2202 West Main\nStreet in Fort Wayne.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meeting Time: 7:30 p.m.&nbsp;&nbsp;Meeting Agenda: Standard format\nmeeting and discussion of Cleanup Day Activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>2025\nMembership Renewal<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To\ndate, approximately 40 members have failed to renew their membership.&nbsp; A\n$25.00 late fee is now added to the renewal fee. If you have not yet renewed\nyour membership, please do so before March 31<sup>st<\/sup>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dues\nreceived with postmark dates after March 31<sup>st<\/sup>&nbsp;will\nbe returned with a notice indicating that 1) the party&#8217;s membership has been\nterminated, and 2) future membership requires submission of a membership\napplication and payment of new member fees (c.f., Bylaws Article IX, Section\n2).&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If personal hardship prevents timely\npayment of dues, contact a Club Officer who may arrange either for dues to be\nwaived or for payment to be deferred.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Cleanup\nDay<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Please\njoin fellow members for work, lunch, and camaraderie on Cleanup Day, April 26,\n2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As\nusual, work will include target frame repairs, road grading, and the trimming\nof trees and brush along the lanes. Please bring hand tools, for\ncarpentry-related work, wood cutting and brush trimming tools, and trucks or\ntrailers for brush hauling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>An\nadditional project this year is the installation of two Range Status\nFlags.&nbsp; One flag will be located at the intersection of the entry lane and\nthe circle.&nbsp; The second flag will be located at the Pistol Pit entrance.\nThese flags are intended to indicate that shooters are on the ranges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In\noperation, the first shooter on the range will raise the flag for the range on\nwhich s\/he intends to shoot.&nbsp; The last person to leave a range, will lower\nand store the flag. Use of the flags will be mandatory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If\nyou have suggestions for additional Cleanup Day projects, please present them\nat the April meeting.&nbsp; A list of projects will be posted on the\nwebsite.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Lock\nCombination Change Reminder<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Retain\nyour 2024 Membership Card until the lock combination change is made on Cleanup\nDay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Driving\nOff Road<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>IT IS NOT PERMISSIBLE FOR&nbsp;ANY&nbsp;MEMBER&nbsp;TO\nDRIVE OFF ROAD TO THE 100 YARD TARGET FRAME.<\/strong>&nbsp;\nSoil conditions permitting, it is permissible to drive on the grass downrange\nwest of the 100 yard firing mound on the 300 yard range to access the 200 yard\ntarget frames. (Do not drive across the 100 yard firing mound.)&nbsp; It is\npermissible to park and drive on the grass in other areas, soil conditions\npermitting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>New\nMembers<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Please welcome new members Donald Cochran\nJr. and David Lund. These gentlemen were inducted as full members at the\nFebruary, 2025 meeting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Sad\nNews<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The\nClub has learned of the passing of Joseph Braun (membership 1969).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Discipline\nReports<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>ACPDL (Allen County Practical Defense League)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>ACPDL\nmatches are scheduled for April 5<sup>th<\/sup>&nbsp;and\nMay 3<sup>rd<\/sup>, 2025.&nbsp; Only ACPDL\nmembers are permitted to shoot.&nbsp; The pre-match meeting begins at 9:00 a.m.\nand shooting commences at 9:30 a.m.&nbsp; Observers and those persons\ninterested in becoming ACPDL members are welcome. Matches are typically\nfinished by 12:00 noon.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>USPSA (United States Practical Shooting\nAssociation)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>USPSA\u00a0 matches are scheduled for April 27<sup>th \u00a0<\/sup>and May\u00a0 18<sup>th<\/sup>,\u00a0 2025.\u00a0 [Note that the first match of the year was moved from Easter Sunday (April 20<sup>th<\/sup>) to April\u00a0 27<sup>th<\/sup>.\u00a0 Match start time is 10:00 a.m.\u00a0 Match fees are $15.00 for members and $20.00 for nonmembers.\u00a0 Practice sessions are scheduled for April 3<sup>rd<\/sup>\u00a0and May 1<sup>st<\/sup>, 2025.\u00a0 Practice sessions begin at 5:00 p.m.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>PCSL (Practical Competition Shooting League)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>PCSL\nmatches are scheduled for April 13<sup>th&nbsp;<\/sup>and\nMay 11<sup>th<\/sup>,&nbsp; 2025.&nbsp; Match\ntime is 10:00 a.m.&nbsp; Registration starts at 9:30 a.m.&nbsp; New shooter\norientation begins at 9:50 a.m.&nbsp; Rifles in caliber .223 and pistols in\ncalibers 9 mm, .40 and .45 are used in this competition. Rounds counts are 120\/match\nfor rifles and 60\/match for pistols. Matches are typically finished by 2:00p.m.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Cowboy Action<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Due to health issues, the Cowboy Action Matches for 2025 have been cancelled.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>High-power (HP)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The\nfollowing matches and practice sessions will be held in the April-May time\nframe.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;50\/80\nMatches:&nbsp; April 12<sup>th<\/sup>&nbsp;and\nMay 10<sup>th<\/sup>. &nbsp;Registration begins at 8:00 a.m. Match start\ntime is 9:00 a.m.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Practice Matches:&nbsp; May 1<sup>st<\/sup>, May 10<sup>th<\/sup>,\nMay 15<sup>th<\/sup>, May 22<sup>nd<\/sup>, and May 29<sup>th<\/sup>.\nPractice matches begin at 3:00 p.m. at which time the Main Range is closed to\ninformal practice.&nbsp; The pistol Pits remain open.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Electronic Target\nSystem Training Class<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The\nClub has purchased a Silver Mountain Electronic Target System that will be made\navailable to individual members for use at the range.&nbsp; Users must be\ntrained before access to the system is granted.
