For the Saturday, May 9th match we had 18 shooters turn out on a brisk spring day.\u00a0 We had a first time occurrence on Saturday \u2013 we had our first Junior Girl serve as a Range Officer. The usual crew of old coots was unavailable for RO duties, but Miss Mia King was certified at Camp Perry as a CMP Class 2 Range Officer last summer so she had an opportunity to put her skills to the test \u2013 and by every account she did very well.\u00a0 Now we old guys can retire.<\/p>\n\n\n

The well-equipped Range Officer; pen, scorecards, clipboard, iPad,<\/em> <\/strong>timer, servers and of course – a smile!<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We had five shooters shoot 50-round matches and eleven shooters fire 80-round matches (two folks did not turn in scorecards).\u00a0 In the 50-round match, Jim Jackson (who assisted the RO with electronic target duties \u2013 thank you Jim<\/em><\/strong>) took top honors with a 487-18X.\u00a0 Miss Aria Hobbs, another of our Junior girls, took second place (and High Junior) with a 470-5X; topping her grandfather Jess Jessup\u2019s third place 464-8X.\u00a0 These kids just have no respect for their elders.<\/p>\n\n\n

In the 80-round match Marshall Rohrbach came out on top with a 786-29X performance, followed by Mike King with 781-30X.  Third place went to one of our visitors from the Toledo area, Mark Stevens with 769-12X.<\/p>\n\n\n

The RO dilemma<\/em>; Okay – where am I, what comes next – what have I forgotten?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our next match will be on Saturday, May 30th.\u00a0 This is a 3 x 300 Prone Match and it is the first match of the 2026 FWRR Club Championship series.\u00a0<\/strong> These are popular matches and once registration opens \u2013 early requests for squadding are recommended.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
