{"id":3164,"date":"2026-08-10T14:10:28","date_gmt":"2026-08-10T14:10:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/fwrrclub.org\/?p=3164"},"modified":"2026-08-10T14:10:29","modified_gmt":"2026-08-10T14:10:29","slug":"camp-perry-notes-and-august-8-match-results","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/fwrrclub.org\/index.php\/2026\/08\/10\/camp-perry-notes-and-august-8-match-results\/","title":{"rendered":"Camp Perry Notes and August 8 Match Results"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The smoke (and blowing targets) from Camp Perry had barely cleared and Saturday August 8th was the third match of the 2026 FWRR Championship series.\u00a0 It was a cool, very humid day with not much wind \u2013 sweaty but not too uncomfortable.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"445\" src=\"https:\/\/fwrrclub.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/IMG_1876-1024x445.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3165\" style=\"width:592px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/fwrrclub.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/IMG_1876-1024x445.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/fwrrclub.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/IMG_1876-300x130.jpg 300w, https:\/\/fwrrclub.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/IMG_1876-768x333.jpg 768w, https:\/\/fwrrclub.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/IMG_1876-1536x667.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/fwrrclub.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/IMG_1876-2048x889.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p>We had shooters firing 100, 80 and 50-round matches and of the twelve shooters we had four Juniors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mark Walters was the only 100-round shooter and he posted a 939-22X aggregate, with 742-17X across the first 80-round strings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the 80-round matches, Mike King took the top standing with 789-30X, followed by Ashley Stevens, our visitor from Maumee, Ohio, with 781-21X.&nbsp; Jack Bushong, one of our Juniors who is on his way to college in Alaska, took third with 775-26X.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the 50-round matches, Miss Aria Hobbs \u2013 one of our Junior girls, took both the top score and high Junior with a 469-12X.&nbsp; She outshot her GrandPa, Jess Jessup, who posted a 465-10X.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This was the third and next to final match in the FWRR High Power Championship series and as of now, here are the standings:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Senior Division&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 1089<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gary Mabis&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 1349<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Camp Perry and National Matches are over and I want to highlight a few of the accomplishments of our FWRR shooters:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>FWRR and Indiana Junior High Power fielded 5 teams in the Junior Freedom Fire Trophy team match.&nbsp; 14 EIC points at Camp Perry<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Emma Branson set a new Womens\u2019 National Record in the Garand Match, with a 288-8X \u2013 eclipsing the previous record set in 2025 of 286-5X.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Our visitor from Maumee, Ohio (Ashley Stevens) who comes to just about every match at FWRR &#8211; finished her Distinguished Rifleman quest with the last 10 \u201chard leg\u201d points she needed to leg out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There is still a lot of shooting to be done this summer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Our next matches are the Leonard Johnson Memorial Match on August 22nd, a 100-yard NRA match on August 27th and in September we have the final match of the Club Championship series on September 19<sup>th<\/sup>.&nbsp;
