FWRR Club Meeting
The next meeting of the Fort Wayne Rifle and Revolver Club will be held on Monday, December 1, 2025. Meeting Place: VFW Post 857, located at 2202 West Main Street in Fort Wayne. Meeting Time: 7:30 p.m. Meeting Agenda: Standard meeting format.
2026 Membership Renewal
2026 Membership Renewal Forms will be mailed in early to mid-December. Please remember to include proof of current NRA membership. Either a photocopy of the membership card or a magazine label (or the label itself) are acceptable forms of proof. If a photocopy of an NRA membership card is submitted, it must display the expiration date. Cards marked “Annual” and displaying no date are unacceptable.
PLEASE READ AND FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS AT THE TOP OF THE FORM.
Completed Membership Renewal Forms, proof of current NRA membership, and payments are due on January 1st each year. If your renewal form has not been received by mid-January, contact the Treasurer.
Dues must be received on or before March 1st to avoid late fees or termination of membership. Dues received with postmark dates after March 1st, but on or before March 31st, are subject to a $25.00 late fee. Dues received with postmark dates after March 31st will be returned with a notice indicating that:
1) the party’s membership has been terminated, and;
2) future membership requires submission of a membership application and payment of new member fees (c.f., Bylaws Article IX, Section 2). Dues paid with an NSF check are subject to a $25.00 returned check fee.
If personal hardship prevents timely payment of dues, contact a Club Officer who may arrange either for dues to be waived or for payment to be deferred.
Individuals who were accepted as members after October 1, 2025 are not required to pay membership dues for the 2026 calendar year; nevertheless, they do need to return the renewal form with proof of current NRA membership.
Dues Increase
Basic dues for 2026 will increase from $85.00 to $90.00 and will be increased at a rate of $5.00 per year for the following two years. Individuals inducted before January 2024 will be grandfathered with regard to Life Membership. Individuals inducted after January 2024 who have been members for at least five consecutive years are eligible for Life (dues free) Membership in the year following their 70th birthday. Ref.: Article XI, Sections 5 of the Bylaws, as amended to reflect these changes.
Discipline Reports
ACPDL (Allen County Practical Defense League)
The next ACPDL match is schedule to take place on December 6, 2025. Only ACPDL members are permitted to shoot. The pre-match meeting begins at 9:00 a.m. and shooting commences at 9:30 a.m. Observers and those persons interested in becoming ACPDL members are welcome. Matches are typically finished by 12:00 noon.
USPSA (United States Practical Shooting Association)
The last match of the season was held on October 20, 2025. Matches will resume Spring, 2026.
PCSL (Practical Competition Shooting League)
Note that the match described below does not appear on the 2025 Schedule.
A two-man team match following PCSL 2 Gun Rules will be held on December 7, 2025. There will be two divisions: Pistol/PCC and Pistol/Pistol. Only pistol caliber firearms will be used in this match.
The registration fee is $20.00 ($15.00 for FWRRC members) or competitors may donate a toy of equal or greater value. (Bring a receipt, if possible.) New toys are preferred but used toys in like-new condition are acceptable. All toys will be donated to Toys for Tots.
Check-in/Registration time is 8:30 a.m. The shooter orientation meeting will be held at 9:30 a.m. First shots will be fired at 10:00 a.m. The estimated rounds count for this match is 100 rounds per shooter.
Cowboy Action
Cowboy Action matches will resume in 2026.
High-power (HP)
Winter Offhand Matches will be held on the second Saturday of the month from November, 2025 through March, 2026. Registration and set up will begin at 8:15 a.m. Firing will typically commence at 9:00 a.m.
This year, the Winter Offhand Matches will have Senior and Junior divisions, with season aggregate champions in each division. Because there are always seasonal interruptions, the top four match scores will count toward the aggregate. That means that a shooter can miss one match and still be in contention for the championship. If a match is canceled, the top three scores will count toward the season aggregate.
The Winter Offhand Match format consists of two stages. During the First Stage, 22 shots will be fired in a time limit of 22 minutes. The high 20 shots of the First Stage will count for record; the other two shots are regarded as sighters. Twenty record shots will be fired in a time limit of 20 minutes during the Second Stage.
The match fee for Seniors is $10.00. Juniors will not pay a match fee. Ammunition for Juniors will be available at a cost of $15.00.
Range Maintenance Activities
The engine of the Club Cadet riding mower failed. Repair or replacement of the engine was determined to be impractical (age and expense considerations). With membership approval, the mower was replaced at a cost of approximately $1800.00.
The mowers and sprayer were winterized, the cistern was emptied, and the 300-yard target number boards were stored.
Mowing
If you wish to become a member of the 2026 Mowing Crew, contact Martin Didion at martindidion4@gmail.com.
New Members
Please welcome new members Edwin (Bud) Serrani and John Urbahns. These gentlemen were inducted as a full member during the October, 2025 meeting.
Sad News
It has come to the Club’s attention that Sam Adams (member 2018) and Clyde Ford III (member 2000) recently passed away. Both gentlemen were NRA Life members.
Range Status Flag Reminder
Range Status Flags have been installed at the entrances to the Main Range and the Pistol Range (“Pistol Pit”). A Range Status Flag is to be flown anytime firing is being conducted on the range which is active. The flags need not be raised if the activity does not involve shooting (e.g., during range setup, mowing or maintenance activities). Use of the flags is mandatory.
The flag for the Main Range is located near the intersection of the entrance lane and the lane that passes directly in front of the White Building. The flag for the Pistol Range is located to the right of the entrance to the Pistol Range.
The first person to arrive for a shooting session is responsible for raising a flag on the range that is to be used. The last person to leave is responsible for lowering and storing the flag at the location s/he had been using. When a flag is lowered, wrap it around the mast and secure it with the bungee cord that has been provided for that purpose.
Fire at Eel River Gun Club
Fire destroyed Eel River Gun Club’s indoor range in late September. Insurance will not cover the entire cost of rebuilding the facility; therefore, a GoFundMe Page has been established. Those persons interested in contributing to the rebuilding of the range may use the following GoFundMe Link: https://gofund.meb73b0d212. Contact Jerry Johnson via phone or text at (260) 385-4592 to arrange to donate by means other than GoFundMe..
