The Saturday, January 10 Winter Offhand Match was shot under just about as friendly weather conditions as you could ask for … at least in Indiana in January.  We were set up by about 8:30, but that was only about 25 minutes after what was supposed to be sunrise and it was so dark I quipped; “Lady and Gentlemen – this will be a night shoot”.  It wasn’t really cold, about 40-degrees and there was not a hint of wind!  The clouds hung on, but by the usual 9:00 AM start time, we had enough light to shoot and in spite of that – some really good scores were posted.

We had eleven shooters and one prospective Junior observer, a fair turnout considering two of my shooters sent me an email saying that they had slept in and we shouldn’t wait for them.  Oh well – if you snooze, you looze.

In the Senior Division, top shooter for the day was Marshall Rohrbach, living up to his High Master classification with a 391-8X score.  Mike King followed with 382-10X and Jim Jackson in third with a 381-4X.  Topping the Junior Division was Mia King with 373-2X.

For the season to date, the leader board is as follows:

Marshall Rohrbach           777-16X

Jim Jackson                        764-12X

Mark Walters                    730- 7X

Mia King                             726- 6X

We have two more matches to go and the low score for each shooter will be tossed out to figure the season totals – so nothing is cast in concrete yet.

The next match is the second Saturday in February, February 14th.  That is Valentine’s Day, so tie a red ribbon on your rifle and come out and shoot with us.  Setup is at about 8:15 and we will shoot the first relay when we get a full line – any latecomers will shoot on the second relay.
