On Saturday, July 11 the Fort Wayne Rifle and Revolver Club conducted a 50-80-100 round XTC match at their Harlan, Indiana range. For the most part it was a cloudy, muggy day with only a hint of a breeze on a couple of occasions. We lost several shooters to the ISRPA match at Camp Atterbury (the lure of a 600-yard range is hard to overcome), but we had eleven shooters at the match.
Notably, of the eleven shooters, five of them were Juniors and two of them were shooting their first club match with us.

Noah and Madyson, two of our newest Junior Competitors
In the 1000-point Aggregate Iron Man Match, Mark Walters was the only competitor, posting a 963-41X with his match rifle. Two of the Juniors thought they wanted to try the 1000-point aggregate, but the RO saw them fading a bit and decided enough was enough – maybe next time guys.
In the 800-point Aggregate match, Junior Jack Bushong took High Junior with his 773-22X score. In the other rankings, Mike Habel followed with 756-12X and Juniors Tayt Shaffer (704-9X) and Madyson Klebba (666-6X) placed second and third.
In the 500-Aggregate match, John Sheaffer smoked the group with a 498-24X. Jess Jessup followed with 471-12X and Noah Hobbs – our newest Junior shooting his first match – took High Junior with 350-3X.
We’re off to Camp Perry and the National Matches for our next adventure and our next match will be August 8th, the third match of the FWRR Club Championship series.
