Electronic Target Frame at 200-Yard Line
The Club has a stand alone Silver Mountain Target system. This system is for everyone to use (after a class), but it hasn’t been used all that much. I asked around a bit and one reason was that with the prohibition of driving vehicles across the range to the 200-yard target stands, the frame is just too bulky for one person to lug around.
And, that’s right- it is pretty hefty – especially for old guys.
So, why not leave the frame up on the 200-yard target stand and just move the box of electronics and a target face and backer when you want to use it?
The frame and plastic are weather resistant, so there is no reason not to leave them – except they may be abused.
BUT, we are going to do an experiment to see if the electronic frame can stay in place and not get abused or destroyed.
So:
A. Please do not use the electronic frame to post practice targets. Please use cardboard or other backers for non-electronic targets.
B. If you use the electronic target, please use a 24 x 36 inch target backer (available in the clubhouse) to mount your target face. Don’t staple a face to the big plastic sheet.
If the frame survives for a week or so it will be mounted more permanently and if this experiment works out well, we will look into putting a similar frame on the 100-yard target stands.
Oh, by the way – there is an iPad for a display and batteries on charge in the locker – enjoy.
